Students, It’s 2010! So Let’s Go Back to Stone Age!
Wait a minute! This heading makes no sense? Sadly it does. In late November a German court delivered a verdict that is interesting enough to post on an international site, because it is about copyright, which is no doubt an international issue.
The court said, that students and scientists are not allowed to digitally copy or print out parts of the digital media library of the university Darmstadt.

However, students and scientists, that need to quote from those digital books for their work, areĀ allowed to write off parts with pen and paper. Ding! Ding!

The initiator of all this is theĀ German Publishers and Booksellers Association.
Have a nice day
